Turn learning into employable evidence
1. Start with a job advert
Identify two or three repeated requirements in the roles you want. Learn those first rather than following whatever course is fashionable.
2. Practise immediately
If you learn GA4, analyse a real site. If you learn email, build a short flow. If you learn SEO, audit a page.
3. Save the evidence
Record the brief, what you did, why you chose the approach, what happened and what you would improve.
4. Stop collecting
Once a course gives you enough to practise the skill, move from consuming to doing.
A simple four-week starter curriculum
| Week | Focus | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Marketing fundamentals and customer thinking | One-page analysis of a real brand |
| 2 | Measurement and commercial metrics | Mini dashboard or campaign calculation |
| 3 | One specialist channel | Small SEO, PPC, email, content or social project |
| 4 | Communication and reflection | Turn the project into a portfolio case study and CV achievement |
Use learning to build proof
Turn one useful skill into a project that can appear in a portfolio, application or interview.
