Local Arjowiggins Graphic team helps restore Chineham Woodland
Arjowiggins Graphic, the leader in the development of environmental paper solutions, has helped to revitalise a local area of ancient woodland in Chineham woods for the first time in 30 years.
Working with Chineham Conservation Group, the team of eight spent the day restoring and coppicing the overgrown area of Great Sorrell’s Copse that supports local birds and plants such as the Great Spotted Woodpecker, Early Purple Orchid and Herb-Paris for the past 400 years.
“The support from local businesses, such as Arjowiggins Graphic, is incredibly valuable as we need many hands for the crucial process of coppicing. Clearing the overgrown areas in this way sustains the long-term health of the woodland and provides a more suitable habitat for the thriving wildlife.”
“The core focus of our business is to mitigate the impact of our manufacturing processes on the environment and helping to restore our local woodland fits well with these values. The Copse had not been coppiced for over 30 years, so we had a big job on our hands and had to work really hard to ensure we completed the task.”
